Food sector circular debts surge to Rs290b

(eNews.pk) - ISLAMABAD: The volume of food sector circular debts in the country amounts to Rs290 billion.




Finance ministry sources told Geo news that the government guarantee in the food sector was of Rs90 billion. Sources said that Rs200 billion loans in food sector have been disbursed against mortgages.
Meanwhile, finance ministry spokesman, Rana Asad Amin told Geo news that the ministry has made all the payments to Pepco and no amount is outstanding now. No amount is payable by the government on account of circulatory loans in the energy sector and the rest has to been done by the oil and energy sector itself clearing and lowering the circular debts.

اسلام آباد…ملک میں غذائی شعبہ کے زیر گردش قرضوں کا حجم 290 ارب روپے ہے۔ وزارت خزانہ کے ذرائع نے جیو نیوز کو بتایاکہ غذائی شعبہ میں حکومتی گارنٹی 90 ارب روپے کے قرضوں کے لیے ہے۔ ذرائع کے مطابق غذائی شعبہ میں 200 ارب روپے کے قرضے رہن رکھ کر جاری کیے گئے۔ ادھر وزارت خزانہ کے ترجمان رانا اسد امین نے جیو نیوز کو بتایا کہ وزارت خزانہ نے پیپکو کی تمام ادائیگیاں کردی ہیں اور اب پیپکو کوئی رقم واجب الادا نہیں۔ ان توانائی کے شعبہ میں زیر گردش قرضوں میں حکومت کی کوئی رقم واجب الادا نہیں اور اب آئل اور انرجی سیکٹر نے واجبات اپنے طور پر کلیئر کرکے سرکلر ڈیٹ کم کرنا ہے
