Data Ganj Bakhsh Urs begins in Lahore today

(eNews.pk) - LAHORE: The 969th annual three-day Urs celebrations of Hazrat Ali bin Usman Alhajveri popularly known as Data Ganj Bakhsh begin in the sanctuary today.




The celebrations begin with the placement of a traditional chadar on the grave of the great Sufi saint of the subcontinent, said Punjab Minister Haji Ehsanuddin AUQAF Qureshi addressing a press conference at Data Darbar Complex here on Saturday. AUQAF Secretary Tariq Pasha was also present.
He said the Department had allocated Rs AUQAF. 8 million to provide facilities to the devotees.
The minister said 400 security guards and 170 'Razacars "AUQAF Department security tasks are performed.
He said the department had installed cameras to monitor facilities Darbar Urs celebrations.
Camp offices of WAPDA, WASA, Civil Defence and first aid have also been created to facilitate pilgrims, he added.

لاہور…حضرت علی ہجویری داتا گنج بخش کے 969 ویں سالانہ عر س کی تین روزہ تقریبات آج سے لاہور میں شروع ہو رہی ہیں۔ وزیر اوقاف پنجاب میاں احسان الدین قریشی کے مطابق حضرت علی ہجویری داتا گنج بخش کے عرس میں ملک کے طول عرض سے زائرین شرکت کرینگے جن کی حفاظت کیلئے خصوصی انتظامات کیے گئے ہیں۔ عرس کے موقع پر روحانی محافل میں پانچ سو مشائخ ،سجادگان ،اکابرین ،مذہبی ا سکالرز اور نعت خواں حصہ لیں گے، زائرین کی حفاظت اور اجتماع کی مانیٹرنگ کیلئے 80 کیمرے جبکہ17 سو سیکورٹی اہلکا ر تعینات کیے جائیں گے ،لنگر اور دیگر انتظامات کے لیے اسی لاکھ روپے کی رقم رکھی گئی ہے۔
