ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Friday constituted a larger bench of five members headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan for the hearing of constitutional petitions challenging the new law grouped "contempt of court amended the Act of 2012," Geo news.
Justice Shakirullah Jan, Justice Tasadduque Jilanee, Justice Jawad Khawaja and Justice Khilji Arif are among the other members of the board of five members.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, last week held an initial hearing of the petitions, when he was absent from the SC registry in Quetta Balochistan law and order case.
The court had issued notices to respondents-petitioners the name of the federation, Prime Minister, President of the Senate, the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Minister of Justice, Attorney General and the division of cabinet, while the decision to hold another hearing on July 23 in Islamabad was made.

اسلام آباد… سپريم کورٹ نے توہين عدالت کے خلاف نئے قانون کو چيلنج کرنے کيلئے دائر آئيني درخواستوں کي آئندہ ہفتے سماعت کي خاطرچيف جسٹس آف پاکستان کي سربراہي ميں پانچ رکني لارجر بنچ تشکيل دے ديا ہے . چيف جسٹس افتخارچودھري نے گزشتہ ہفتے کوئٹہ رجسٹري ميں موجود ہوتے ہوئے توہين عدالت قانون کے خلاف دائر پٹيشن پر ابتدائي سماعت کي تھي ، اس پر عدالت نے فريق بنائے گئے وفاق، وزيراعظم، چيئرمين سينيٹ، اسپيکرقومي اسمبلي ، وزيرقانون،اٹارني جنرل، کيبنٹ ڈويڑن کو نوٹس جاري کرديئے تھے جبکہ سماعت 23 جولائي کو اسلام آباد ميں کرنے کا فيصلہ کيا تھا،توہين عدالت کے اس نئے قانون کے خلاف 18 مختلف آئيني درخواستيں دائر کي گئي ہيں، اب عدالت نے اس مقدمہ کي سماعت کيلئے چيف جسٹس کي سربراہي ميں پانچ رکني بنچ بھي تشکيل دے ديا ہے، عدالتي بنچ کے ديگر ارکان ميں جسٹس شاکراللہ جان، جسٹس تصدق جيلاني، جسٹس جوادخواجہ اور جسٹس خلجي عارف شامل ہيں.
