Can't Confirm the Death of Mullah Nazir: Pentagon

(eNews.pk) - The Pentagon welcomed on Thursday reports that Mullah Nazir was killed in a drone attack, saying that his death would be a "breakthrough".




Local officials in Pakistan said Mullah Nazir, the main militant commander in South Waziristan, was carried out when a drone fired two missiles from U.S. in your vehicle.
However, a Pentagon spokesman could not confirm the account.
"If the reports are true, then this would be a major hit, and it would be very useful not only for America but also our Pakistani partners," said spokesman George Little told reporters.
Pakistani officials say the drone strike on Wednesday killed Nazir and five of his supporters, including two senior deputies.
