Bangladesh landslides toll rises to 110

(eNews.pk) - Chittagong: The death toll from a series of deadly flash floods and landslides in southeastern Bangladesh rose above 100 on Thursday as rescuers suspended the search operation.

The chief administrator of the region, Sirajul Haq Khan, said 110 bodies had been pulled from the mud and rubble of destroyed houses in the districts of Chittagong, Cox 's Bazar and Bandarban.

The landslides were caused by three days of heavy monsoon rains sent rivers of mud powerful falling slopes of the hills surrounding shantytowns below and displaced more than 60,000 people.

ڈھاکا . . .. بنگلہ ديش ميں ہونے والي بارشوں اور لينڈ سلائيڈنگ سے ہلاکتوں کي تعداد 110 ہوگئي جبکہ مختلف مقامات پرڈھائي لاکھ افراد پھنسے ہوئے ہيں جنھيں محفوظ مقامات پر منتقل کرنے کے ليے ريسکيو آپريشن جاري ہے.ٹاگانگ ، سلہٹ اور ديگر شہروں ميں ايک ہفتے سے جاري موسلادھار بارش ،سيلاب اورمٹي کے تودے گرنے سے مختلف حادثات ميں اب تک 110افراد ہلاک اور دو سو سے زائد زخمي ہوئے ہيں. سو سے زائد افراد لاپتا ہيں. حکام کے مطابق متاثرہ علاقوں ميں ڈھائي لاکھ افراد پھنسے ہوئے ہيں ، جنھيں محفوظ مقامات پرمنتقل کرنے کيلئے فوج ،پوليس اور فائر بريگيڈ کا ريسکيوآپريشن جاري ہے.موسلادھا ر بار ش سے بعض مقامات پر ريلوے پل بھي بيٹھ گئے ہيں اور ريلوے نظام بري طرح متاثر ہوگياہے. محکمہ موسميات نے مزيد بارشوں کي پيشگوئي کي ہے.
