Australia beat India by an innings in 2nd Test

(eNews.pk) - SYDNEY: Australia took a 2-0 series lead after beating India by an innings and 68 runs on the fourth day in the second Test in Sydney on Friday.




Australia, who had a 468-run first innings lead, dismissed the tourists for 400 with Sachin Tendulkar out for 80.
Once Tendulkar was dismissed shortly after lunch India collapsed and now cannot win the series with just two Tests remaining in Perth and Adelaide.
India have now suffered two heavy defeats after going down by 122 runs in last week's opening Melbourne Test.
Michael Clarke was man of the match after his unbeaten 329 and Tendulkar's prized wicket with his part-time spin.
Swing bowler Ben Hilfenhaus finished with five wickets for 106 in India's second innings.
Match scores: India 191 and 400; Australia 659 for 4 declared.

سڈنی…دوسرے کرکٹ ٹیسٹ میں آسٹریلیا نے بھارت کو اننگز اور 68رنزسے شکست دے کر 4 میچوں پر مشتمل سیریز میں 2-0 کی برتری حاصل کرلی۔ مائیکل کلارک کو میچ کا بہترین کھلاڑی قرار دیا گیا۔انہوں نے ناقابل شکست 329 رنز بنائے اور سچن ٹنڈولکر کی وکٹ حاصل کی۔سڈنی میں کھیلے جارہے دوسرے ٹیسٹ میں بھارت نے 114 رنز دو کھلاڑی آؤٹ پر اپنی نامکمل اننگز شروع کی تو اسے اننگز کی شکست سے بچنے کیلئے مزید354 رنز کی ضرورت تھی ۔ مہمان ٹیم کو آج پہلا نقصان اس وقت اٹھانا پڑا جب گوتم گمبھیر 83 رنز بناکر سڈل کی گیندپروارنر کے ہاتھوں کیچ آؤٹ ہوگئے۔ٹنڈولکر نے 80 اور لکشمن نے 66 رنز بناکر پویلین کی راہ لی۔ ماسٹر بلاسٹر سچن ٹنڈولکر 100 ویں ٹیسٹ سنچری بنانے میں ایک بار پھر ناکام رہے۔کپتان دھونی نے صرف دو رنز بنائے۔یوں بھارت کی پوری ٹیم 400 رنز بناکر آؤٹ ہوگئی۔ہلفنہاس نے 5 وکٹیں حاصل کیں۔آخری اسکور یہ رہا۔ بھارت 191 اور400رنز، آسٹریلیا 659 رنز 4 کھلاڑی آؤٹ پر اننگز ڈکلیئر۔ملبورن ٹیسٹ میں آسٹریلیا نے بھارت کے خلاف 122 رنز سے کامیابی حاصل کی تھی۔
